APPLICATION SECTION
- As part of the online application, you are required to submit a recent passport-style photo of yourself
- This is uploaded online and checked to ensure it meets the criteria
- You have three attempts to get this right, so please read the advice below to avoid disappointment as this is an important part of the application procedure.
Please DO:
- Ensure that the photo is a head shot; just the top line of your shoulders should be visible
- Ensure you are appropriately dressed in the image; no vest tops please
- Ensure you are looking directly at the camera
- Use the 'slider' after loading to zoom in or out as appropriate
- Take the photo in natural light to avoid shadows etc.
Please DO NOT:
- Get an expensive professional photograph taken; this is not necessary, one taken with a phone will suffice
- Take the image yourself, this often means it will be rejected as you are more often than not looking downwards
- Leave a lot of empty space above your head, your face should fill most of the image, without being too close so that you are not totally visible
- Have hair over your eyes, this will be rejected
- Put any photo in there as a 'placeholder', this will be counted as a submission and will likely lead to a rejection of that image.
COMMON ERRORS AND A GOOD EXAMPLE
Explaination of errors:
1. Too dark and too much shadow
2. Too much space above the head
3. Too much of the torso in the image; needs to be a head shot
4. An ideal example
