WEEK COMMENCING 31 MARCH

A consolidation week and an important week to demonstrate the standard required to progress beyond Easter.  Please note the following:

  • Bases must stand STILL, do not turn your head, use your eyes
  • KNOWLEDGE must be evident, ensure you know where and when you move in a BALL CHANGE and END OF MATCH
  • Be DECISIVE at the end of a game; centres must run into position standing to the side of the player's chair and bases DO NOT put your arm up to feed when game is called
  • CAPTAINS stand with the tins behind your back and DO NOT attempt to take lids off while the tins are not grounded
  • At a TEAM CHANGE, do not cut corners, come off the court as you have been shown
  • Be BOLD in your rolling, this is not a time for caution.

SCORES

Be prepared to answer some verbal questions on arrival about:

  • When players would be sat down
  • When players would return to the same side of the court after a set
  • A Ladies or Gentlemen's Singles match won in 'straight sets'

A reminder, training groups are not guaranteed to be the same after Easter, there will be changes to some people's training days, so where you have an exam that would cause your absence during w/c 21 April or beyond, this should have already been communicated.  Also the first Monday back is a Bank Holiday, so that group would train on Friday that week.  You will not know your post-Easter training group until the second week of the holidays.
