Wildcard Playoffs

The Wildcard Playoffs takes place on Thursday 16 and Friday 17 June and preceeds the qualifying competition.  It is an all day event and a compulsory part of the training programme for new trainees who are still in the training programme at this time (Year 11 recall trainees do not attend)

New trainees need to attend as shown below.  Where you are arriving late, due to an examination, please use the number in your training booklet, so we know when to pick you up from the gate

FURTHER INFORMATION

• You should aim to arrive at the main site, AELTC, Church Road, Wimbledon, SW19 5AE at Gate 5 at 09:45am, where you will be met by an instructor and be taken to the BBG Complex
• You should attend in your PE kit, but you do not need your BBG numbers or booklet
• On arrival, you will be issued with a Wimbledon logo T-shirt and a pair of navy shorts, which will be the uniform for the Wildcard event only
• You should bring with you the following items contained in your Babolat rucksack; waterbottle holder and Evian bottle which was issued during the grass court training (as you will refiill it), cap and sun hat (if the sun hat was issued during the grass court training as well), Babolat trainers and be wearing a pair of the PRL socks.  Remember the babolat trainers are brought with you, NOT worn on route.  You should also bring with you a pair of wristbands.
• The event will finish at approximately 18:00 on Thursday and probably closer to 17:00 on Friday, but at some point you will be able to let your parent's know an approximate finish time.  You will leave the site via Gate 5 where you entered.
• Please note the Wildcard event is not held on the Championships courts themselves but on the courts at Southlands which is just past the practice courts beyond No 1 Court
• A packed lunch will be provided on this day and we have taken into consideration all allergies and special dietary requirments that have been listed on the BBG website
• You will only know which team and position you occupy when you arrive and will get a short briefing from me and also from the Tournament Referee prior to play starting
