THE APPLICATION PROCESS



STAGE 1

Registration and Module completion (1-6)

Deadline: Friday 30 October 2026 (18:00)


  • Website opens on Thursday 1 October (09:00)
  • Register as a new applicant unless you have applied previously; if so, you should use your existing user ID/password
  • If you have forgotten your existing User ID or password, then please use the relevant link for a reminder
  • Modules 1-6 must then be completed by Friday 30 October @ 1800
  • Do not leave this until the last minute, there are no exceptions to the deadline


STAGE 2

Application form and image upload

Deadline: Friday 20 November 2026 (18:00)


  • After the modules, the online application form must be completed 
  • Ensure you enter your information accurately without unnecessary duplication
  • You also need to upload a passport-style photo
  • You only have three attempts to have this photo approved; so read the instructions beforehand
  • Do not save any images as 'placeholders', these will automatically be assessed and approved/rejected as necessary
  • Where a photo is not approved, you will get a reason for this and should follow the instructions carefully before making any further attempts


STAGE 3

Nomination and Personal Information Form

Deadline: Tuesday 12 january 2027


  • Once your application has been completed, it will be in the 'applied' status
  • Your school representative then needs to decide whether you will be one of the nominated candidates for your school who attends the selection trial in January.  The school representative can also nominate a reserve(s) but this student(s) will only attend in the event that a nominated candidate cannot due to injury/illness
  • Nominated and reserve candidates will receive a hard copy of their personal information form (PIF)
  • Ensuring you can fulfill the commitments ooutlined; this form should be signed by you (the applicant), a parent and your school representative
  • Candidates should be clear that they cannot hand these forms in by hand to any gate at the AELTC, your application will be rejected if you attempt to do so
  • Forms must be returned by post to the address shown or may be delivered by hand by the school representative only at Gate 1D
  • Please note, we do not accept signatures that contain a first name only or just initials


STAGE 4

Selection session

Weekend of 16 & 17 January 2027


  • Each school is allocated to one of the five selection sessions
  • Only nominated candidates attend these sessions.  If a nominated candidate is injured or ill on the day, a named reserve can be put forward as a replacement, but only where the PIF has been returned as outlined
  • At the selection session, you will be put through a series of drills, tests and practices across the four areas of assessment (fitness, skills, court knowledge and court work) in order to try and gain a place in the training proramme.
  • There is no guarantee of places within training for any candidate; we can only assess you on what we see on the day.
